Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how WiseTechSoftware LLC ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the Vodeora mobile, desktop and TV applications and the vodeora.com website (together, the "Service").
1. Who we are
The Service is operated by WiseTechSoftware LLC. For any privacy question or request, contact us at info@vodeora.com. Where the law requires a “data controller”, WiseTechSoftware LLC acts as the controller for the limited information described below.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account information. If you create a Vodeora account, we store your email address, a display name and authentication data. Some sign-in options are handled by third parties (for example Apple or Google); in that case we receive only the identifiers those providers share with us.
- Playlists and source configuration. If you enable cross-device sync, the source URLs, playlist references, and player preferences you add are stored so they can be delivered to your other devices. We treat this as user configuration data; we do not review, index or verify it.
- Purchases. Vodeora Pro and other purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not receive your full payment card details; we receive a purchase or subscription receipt and status from the store.
- Support correspondence. If you email us, we keep your message and contact details to respond and keep a record of the request.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and app data. Device model, operating system and version, app version, language, and similar technical information.
- Diagnostics. Crash reports and basic performance and error logs that help us fix problems.
- Usage analytics. Aggregated, event-level information about how the app is used (for example which screens are opened or which features are used). This does not include the identity of the channels or media you play.
- IP address. Our servers and service providers process your IP address as a normal part of delivering an internet service and for security. We may derive an approximate (country or region level) location from it.
2.3 Information we do not collect
- We do not collect the video or audio content you stream, and we are not a party to the connection between your device and a third-party source.
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising or cross-context behavioural advertising.
- We do not knowingly collect information from children (see Section 9).
3. How we use information
- Provide, operate and maintain the Service and your account.
- Synchronise your playlists, preferences and playback position across your devices.
- Process and validate purchases and subscription status.
- Diagnose crashes, debug issues and improve performance and features.
- Respond to your support requests.
- Protect the Service against fraud, abuse and security incidents, and enforce our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
4. Legal bases (EEA / UK users)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you request); legitimate interests (to secure, debug and improve the Service, and to understand aggregate usage); consent (where required, for example for certain analytics); and compliance with a legal obligation.
5. How information is shared
We share information only as described here:
- Service providers. Cloud hosting, storage, crash reporting and analytics providers that process data on our behalf under contract.
- App stores. Apple and Google process purchases and provide us with subscription and receipt information.
- Legal and safety. Where we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety or property of users, the public or WiseTechSoftware LLC.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
Third-party sources, add-ons and services that you choose to use have their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for them, and we encourage you to review their policies.
6. International transfers
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Data retention
We keep account and sync data for as long as your account is active. Diagnostic and analytics data is kept for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with law, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.
8. Your rights and choices
- Access, correction, deletion, portability. Depending on your location, you may request a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to restrict or object to certain processing.
- Account deletion. You can delete your account and synced data from within the app, or by contacting us.
- Consent withdrawal. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.
- Analytics opt-out. You can disable optional analytics and diagnostics in the app settings and in your device settings.
- California residents. We do not sell or “share” (as defined by the CCPA/CPRA) personal information. You may exercise your rights to know, delete and correct as described above, and you will not be discriminated against for doing so.
- Complaints. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To make a request, email info@vodeora.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the app. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
